What is FARMYARN?

FARMYARN is an innovative, elastic, multipurpose garden and craft twine made from 100% recycled textile selvages, a by-product of garment production. Selvages are the left-over edge strips from the cutting and sewing of clothes and other textile products. We recycle these selvages to reduce waste in the garment industry worldwide! Selvages are normally thrown away, creating a lot of waste that sits in landfills. Our team uses a unique method (patent pending) to repurpose these selvages by turning them into a “yarn” that is twine-like in function and appearance. FARMYARN is made from knitted textiles that are composed of synthetic fibers blended with elastane (Lycra) collected from swimsuit, undergarment and athletic wear manufacturers all over the world. As such, FARMYARN comes in many different colors and textures – we do not make fabric to specification and cut it into strips for FARMYARN. This means that no additional waste or by-products are created through FARMYARN’s manufacture, and each FARMYARN bobbin is as unique as the selvage it comes from!

Because FARMYARN is made using at-hand waste selvages, it is NOT a standardized product. The fabric used to manufacture FARMYARN is not newly milled to specification, therefore it is an inconsistent product by nature. Width of yarn, thickness, fabrication, type of knit/texture, amount of elasticity, and color shades will vary bobbin to bobbin. Small holes along FARMYARN are selvage marks and is NOT product damage. Width and light color variation can occur throughout the bobbin. Small knots or stitches may be present where two lengths of selvage are joined to create the exact product bobbin length. Some adhesives from packaging can adhere to the yarn. This is unavoidable and can be removed through washing. Machine wash with like colors. Some color bleed may occur with first wash.

RETURN POLICY: Returns are wasteful and FARMYARN is all about reducing waste! Therefore, we do not accept returns except in cases of wrong item shipped or documented damage/defect. Please read the product information to understand the nature of this product before buying, as we do not allow returns for buyer remorse.
